After delivering a viral phenomenon like BRAT, it’s completely understandable to follow up with a soundtrack release to fill the gap and give the next LP more breathing room. However, this release only meets the standard of a soundtrack: calling it a true romance 2.0 is pure hype, as the two are not even on the same level—this soundtrack has lost its previous sharpness. Labeling it as classical pop is also baseless; relying solely on flat string arrangements can’t cross the threshold into classical pop. After all, as a soundtrack, its primary role is to complement the film. Releasing the soundtrack before the movie will inevitably make it feel thin and weak, unless the quality is exceptionally high. Of course, the collaboration with Sky Ferreira is still a pleasant surprise.
交出BRAT这样病毒式传播的现象级发行后，再交出一张原声带发行来填补空白期，并给出后一张LP更多的呼吸空间，是完全可以理解的动作。但这张发行也止步于原声带的水准：说是真浪漫2.0完全是炒作，两者根本不是一个量级的，这张原声带失去了以往的尖锐；说是古典流行的评价也是无稽之谈，只凭借平面的弦乐编排根本无法迈过古典流行的门槛。毕竟是原声带，更重要的是和电影的配合，原声带相较于电影先释出就是会显得单薄无力，除非质量特别上乘。当然拉来Sky Ferreira合作还是很惊喜的。
